Nowadays, it is well-known as one of the largest and oldest tire brands in the world, just behind Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear and Continental brands. Pirelli’s products have a good reputation for their high performance made for super cars. But you can also buy a Pirelli’s tire for your SUV or sedan as the tire isn’t as costly as you may think. A high-speed summer tire with an asymmetric tread pattern from the Italian manufacturer that is continuing the legendary Pzero line. The tire provides excellent coupling quality on dry and wet asphalt and is also used as a stock option for many high-speed cars. Summer tire from the Dutch manufacturer intended for aggressive and ultra-fast driving in powerful cars. The design of the tire is very similar to the usual UHP Vredestein Ultrac Vorti tire: it has the same asymmetric tread, central rib and wide channels for aquaplaning resistance. In addition, it is impossible not to notice the pronounced outside shoulder that provides confident cornering and stable handling.
The BluResponse won outright in 2014 and a second place in 2017 shows that it’s still a great choice. It’s also an impressive result for a tyre first launched back in 2013, and it proved especially talented in the dry. In these conditions, it won the braking test and came third on the handling track. The steering didn’t feel quite as sharp as when the Continental tyres were fitted, but agility and balance were excellent and the lap time was just a few tenths behind. Despite having lots of grip, the Dunlop was one of the most frugal designs, coming second in the rolling-resistance test, beaten only by the P7 Blue. Newer tyres outperformed it in our aquaplaning tests, but results weren’t too far behind the best.
